Letter to the editor re: exit polls vs vote counts

This was in the Edmonton Journal today, a daily in a mid sized Canadian city:

U.S., Ukraine elections similar
Would some pundit please explain why we are being told that the variation between exit polls and official vote counts indicates fraud in the Ukrainian election, but apparently just means that exit polls are unreliable in the U.S. election? This contradiction has not been acknowledged in the media, at least to my knowledge, and it cries out for an explanation.

It may be that the media is slowly acknowledging the need to address the issue. I suspect we may see some feeble explanations soon.
