The BEST of the DU Analyses (KEEP KICKED PLEASE!)
Many of us agree that we MUST get the BEST of the DU Analyses off the discussion boards and into the hands of people who might be influenced by them --

In the past few days there have been at least 5 different DUers who have asked for help putting together a complete set of DU Analyses to post on a website or to print out to sent to everyone (media, congress, potential leaders). I definitely don't have all of the DU analyses - but I have a bunch listed below (thanks to Eloriel and friends!). They are listed by author - and authors are in no particular order. I will try to put these in a more logical arrangement (by type of analysis or by state) when I can.

In the meantime PLEASE email me if you know of analyses I should add to this list !

===================================================

There are already a number of websites that include DU analyses. Three of the best:

6. I'm curious about these massive posts
these massive "master compendiums" to other "master lists" and such. And I'm wondering about the brains of people that could find these useful for anything.

What is it about such a brain that would not simply be confused by this stuff, like I am. Are they on crack? Or am I?

Or call me crazy, but is confusion the real objective here, just messing with our heads.

13. of course it's all just noise
being sold as signal.

the whole concept of "kicking" captures that in a nutshell. A kick says absolutely nothing, but it shoves the empty useless thread ahead of the ones where people are saying things for real.

"Halt, Audit & Prove My Vote Counts, Now"

Suggested everyone take a hard look at the rather lame article in the Boston Globe:

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/president/articles/2004/12/01/voting_errors_tallied_nationwide/

Folk here might consider informing them that their paragraph:

"Those who believe that either or both of the past two presidential elections were manipulated by a vague conspiracy to elect Bush have done statistical analyses of voting patterns in Florida and argued that the voting discrepancies were much larger and systemic, but their studies have not stood up to scrutiny from academics and other analysts."

IS BULLSHIT.

I was just trying to search through pages and pages to see if anyone has looked at the amount of new voters in ohio compared with the amount of votes for bush and Kerry?

My brother did some calculations on it and found that BUSH got more than 100% YES MORE THAN 100% in some cases. THis seems very important and I want to get it inot the right hands. If nobody else has calculated it up yet.

22. The BEST? Or ALL... yikes.
One thing DU really lacks is a real rating system. (At least, I don't think there is one. I'm a n00b here.)

Rating systems tell you two things. One is which articles DU folks thought it was most worth their time to read.

The other is which articles DU folks thought it was most worth their time to read.

The difference? You get to see which articles are probably pretty good AND you also get to make your own decision as to which articles are the best, and as such, you develop an understanding of where your fellow DUers may be missing an important argument or article.

The number of comments in an article says nothing about how good that article is, and kicking, well, that's a pretty lousy wayto do it.

25. The truth is even worse than you may already think...
I didn't use any selection criteria to determine what was "BEST" -- other than the ones I liked. I wish we had a 'stable platform' on which all of the analyses could remain so that we could get people to rate them for quality - but each article disappears pretty quickly. So my list is really meant to be 'complete' and people (especially those who want to print analyses to get them to media/politicians or post them on a website) can sort them based on their own criteria for quality.

If you want to help... I am open to that!

:)

...correct me if I'm wrong, but if you read to the end of the thread, when they finally got the missing numbers out of the Herald reporters, it turned out it didn't show fraud, just really bad reporting.

Thank you for this valuable effort.

If/when you do an updated compilation, I hope you'll put it in a new post--maybe add a link to the new post in this thread.

It might be helpful to add dates when info/articles were originally posted, if possible, so folks can easily spot what might be new to them. Maybe you could do this on a going-forward basis; I understand probably too much work to go back and get the dates of all the old items.

40. What Colin Powell said today
as quoted by George Will in his op-ed:

“Corrupt elections cannot create legitimate governments” … and … “we cannot accept this result because there has not been an investigation of the numerous and credible reports of fraud and abuse.”

Of course, he was referring to the Ukraine. Oh well.

59. Not "DU" analysis but Liddle is up to two now.
She deserves a section.

The original florida opscan study (Mittledorf introduction page):

An expansion of prior work on the Ohio "bottleneck effect":

70. kick and more...
I would like to see this as a permanent feature, so that all new readers can get to this info right away from the front page. I think we're going to have A LOT of new people seeking information on this issue, in the next couple of weeks, from the totally uninformed to the very knowledgeable with expertise. Make it as easy as possible for them to find it!

I did a 6 page summary about a week ago--describing the evidence I knew about, as it stood then, inclu refs to orig. docs and more info, and inclu some simple background on e-voting and on the current situation (f.i., that Kerry can unconcede--things a lot of people don't yet know)--and a lot of people found this summary helpful, esp. people who don't have time to find all this for themselves. I will go through this compendium (which has a number of things I didn't even know about), re-write the summary, and post it in this forum for criticism (and for anyone to use).

Thanks so much for this compendium! It is a very great help!

I agree with all the additions suggested above.
