Any "alternative" hip-hop fans out there?
I'm a big fan of acts like Blackalicious, The Roots, Jurassic Five, and my neighborhood's very Heiruspecs - but I'm getting older and I can't keep up with the scene like I did back in the day - are there other acts I should be checking out?

1. Check out
Talib Kweli. maybe Mos Def's most recent album. If you don't have the album those two did together under the name Black Star, you should get it immediately.
As far as fresher acts, have you heard Source of Labor? Maybe you'd dig Metabass 'n' Breath as well.

4. I've heard Mos Def's recent is disappointing.
Nobody has told it is bad just kind of sad to listen to because he could do much better.

I always find time for the aforementioned Hieros, as well as other Yay Area crews like Living Legends, and Hobo Junction.

The Molemen label out of Chicago has a lot to offer too.
