"Okay. Don't panic. right now you're panicking. you're thinking, "how could they do this to me?" But what you SHOULD be thinking is: "How could they do this to JOSS?". Seriously. That pity is mine and I want it back.

So what happened? Well, nothing terribly original. April got crowded with a lot of titles aimed at a similar demographic, and the studio decided September was a clearer corridor for the film to make the kind of impact it should. This isn't about a lack of confidence in the film -- in fact, they told me this before they even saw it. "





Shit, Shit, Shit! And what happens when September gets too crowed?

I am so bummed. This was the one thing helping my mood, what with the election crap.

Like many others, I discovered the show on DVD since Fox never promoted it, stuck it in a crappy Friday timeslot, only aired like 2/3 of the shows and those it did air it aired them out of order. For instance, the pilot never aired until after Fox announced it would pull the show. Will the brilliance of Fox exectives never cease?

Oh well. We got our Farscape mini-series, they're making the Firefly movie (they'll have to show it sometime or at least release to DVD) and Doctor Who will be back sometime next year too (should be available in the U.S. via bit torrents at least). Did I mention the new companion is hot (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/newtv/piper.shtml)? And of course, new eipsodes of Stargate SG1 and Smallville and Enterprise isn't sucking as much this season (in fact, so far -- discounting the first show of the season -- it's been pretty damn watchable). I'm sure there's a couple I forgot.

2005 is turning out not to be a bad year for us Sci-Fi/Fantasy fans. Now if we could only do something about those civil liberties, the war(s), the environment and the economy.
