11. Some people like to say things like "stealing" or "ripping off"
I hate that. Clearly they're trying to emulate Elvis because they think he's awesome. I never really understood that. I guess if I were in a band I'd be "ripping off" The Velvet Underground.

13. That album is totally underrated.
It might have not been a poineer of psychedelia like Sgt. Pepper or Eight Miles High, but there are a lot of good songs on it.

24. It was released in the shadow of Sgt. Pepper.
I agree, it should have gotten more attention. Here's another album I like that got swamped by the Sarge:

26. In 3D, no less!!! I was listening to that album tonight, a perfect blend
for my tastes, psychedlia and the Stones. An odd combo, but it works.

15. Murmur by R.E.M. The famous railroad trestle and kudzu are just minutes from my house!
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 02:29 PM by CottonBear

Unfortunately, part of the trestle was destroyed by the railroad in concert with local authorities.
We progressive Athenians want it reconstructed and used as part of our greenway trail system.

The Little Tigers (one of my all-time favorite Athens, GA bands!)

I can't get to the picture of the album cover because the Diane Middlebrook site is out of commission, following her death. I do have it as the wallpaper on my PC.
