Hillary Clinton, oops, Amy Poehler's leaving 'SNL'... Say it isn't so ...
Source:

"It's gonna be really hard — Boyz II Men hard — to say goodbye to yesterday," Amy says in the new issue of Men's Vogue. " 'SNL' was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down."

And it gets worse, or better, depending on your point of view. She's not coming back to "SNL" after maternity leave. Instead Poehler is preparing to star in her own NBC series from the executive producers of "The Office." At least we have that to look forward to. ...

1. I hate to see her go, but SNL has ALWAYS managed to find someone
to "play" whatever character they needed, no matter who appeared. I'm confident they will find someone to be Hillary if they need they character to be in their skits.

3. Glad she found a new gig but she would've made a great Mrs. McLiar!
Good Luck, Amy and Congratulations on your new baby!

5. In 50 days, they won't need to parody Mrs. McLiar
They'll need to find someone to play Michelle Obama for the next 8 years, though...

12. True but she still
looks just like McLiar's old lady, just as Tina Fey looked like Pa-liar

4. I wish she'd skip this new NBC gig...
...and make some new episodes of Upright Citizens Brigade. I still can't believe they canceled that show for fighting robots :grr:

6. She is all REPUBLICAN! She backed Bush in 2004...
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 09:53 PM by DogPoundPup
I have no affection for her :grr:

I'm not talking about SNL skits either, I mean she and other celebs like Kelsy Grammer(?) and that gal that starred on "Raymond". Oh my, they felt chastised by Hollywood for being 'CONservatives'.

11. What is the guy's name
that runs SNL. He supports Republicans I heard or read somewhere reliable. Maybe Amy is a pub. I wouldn't have thought so but I have been surprised by some of them later on and their affiliations. Puke. I won't watch them much anymore. Besides they let McCain on way too often. Maybe this is another reason why Obama wouldn't go on.

15. Doesn't seem like a Con to me
besides McCain, who he might just be a friend of after his numerous appearances on SNL, he has given pretty much exclusively to Dems except for that donation to Ralph Nader. I mean he's a Canadian, do they even have republicans over there.

14. That's good news to me. I haven't found SNL funny in eons.
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 03:25 PM by Forkboy
And she's been wasted on that show until just this year when she did Hillary so good. She was unbelievably funny on The Upright Citizens Brigade ("..it's a rare, common deformity."). The new show will feature her prominently, and that's what I want to see.

As for her being a repub, I just don't care. I'm looking for laughs, not getting married to her.
