September 17, 1947...A very obscure date in entertainment history...

Do you know what happened on that date... that eventually lead to laughter among millions of people all over the world?

It was not the birth of John Ritter...that happened in 1948..

Not what you have in mind, obviously, but worth noting.

7. NO...not about Isreal...that was May 14..1948...here is the citation
