Poll question: Rate Blade: Trinity |
|
I figure why not have DU's star-scale review of movies. Feel free to copy this format for other movies.
This one was like hot and cold. It would get really good for a while, and then come to a screeching hault. I do not think David Goyer is a good director. Great writer, lousy director.
It still was not as bad as alot of people said it was though. It's coming off a really good first 2 movies so it looks weak in comparison. Yeah it's probably the worst film in the franchise but not by a ton. Certainly shoudn't kill the series if there's any justice in this world. In fact it's a good reason to get another one going quick. With some new blood (no pun intended) at the helm, or if Norrington (Blade) or Del Toro (Blade II) want to return that's great. I don't have the whole story straight about them and I know there were problems, but whichever one dislikes Wesley Snipes less should come back. Other wise, someone like Wes Craven or the guy who did the crow would be cool.
Anyway, 2.5 stars.

A lot of people hated Underworld. Me? It took me back--some would say plagiaristically back--to the days when I used to Ref a Vampire LARP.
I'm behind on the theatrical releases, so I haven't seen the new Blade yet.

4. They should have released it a month earlier |

It got lost in the Christmas film rush.
Heck, I wasn't aware that it was coming out until a couple of weeks beforehand. I still haven't seen it, but there's also so much more out there that I'd rather see right now. I'll probably just wait until it comes out on DVD.

5. I gave it a 3.0...not as good as the first, but still a good movie. |

I agree that there were some dry patches and I had a little beef with the editing of some of the action scenes---I think the shot editing was a little TOO frantic and fast paced, the editing drew attention to itself and distracted from the action on screen.
Snipes has created a great character as the Day-walker. I like the overall premise of the films, and the action is pretty cool in all of them--- I would go see another sequel if they make one.

In the comics, the Nightstalkers consisted of Blade, Hannibal King, and a guy named Frank Drake, who was the last living descendant of Dracula. They associated with a guy named Quincy Harker (who was sort of a Whistler type-older guy, only British and in wheelchair and descended from a character in "Dracula" the Bram Stoker "tale"), a girl named Rachel Van Helsing, (who was a blonde British buffy vampire hunter created wayy before Buffy, who specialized in science and stuff), and a big hulking guy from India named Taj
I'd like to see all those characters introduced in a 4th one.
