7. It's a mugs game
There are an infinite amount of belief systems (and flavors of atheism, which, as we all know, is not a belief system), and there are almost as many picky people who want to complain about not being represented.

For exmaple I would be uncomfortable describing myself as an agnostic theist, although I take your point.

8. yep, my annoyance just got to me with the latest poll
The positive rejection of belief in God is central to atheism, in my view. Agnosticism is just as close to theism as it is to atheism.
