I home Sunday School my daughter.
I don't want her to learn the bullshit they teach in church Sunday schools.

1. Jesus wants you for sunbeam, to shine for him each day.
In every way try to please him,
At home, at school at play.
A sunbeam
A sunbeam
Jesus wants me for a sunbeam
A sunbeam
A sunbeam
I'll be a sunbeam for him.

Now, that's very sweet and you hate the sun! (Tee hee)

Your statement just made me remember all the SS sessions I went to with the little coloring books. More homework.

2. Good
Read the Sunday paper with her, that's what secular humanists and atheists do on Sunday. That's why there are big papers on Sunday in the "Godless" areas of the country.

3. You should hear some of the shit I was taught in fundie Sunday School class
Probably the most preposterous was that dinosaurs never really existed, that God placed the fossils into the ground to "confound" scientists.

4. You're depriving the Sunday School teachers of a valuable education, you know.
I knew one five year old who upset his Sunday School teachers by suggesting that racism would go away if there were more inter-racial marriages.

And a little girl about the same age, who was confronted with the claim that "we think of G-d as a father because G-d is so strong and powerful," promptly expressed an opinion that we should therefore think of G-d as a little girl.

5. What was it the Bible said about turning and becoming like children?
;-)

They seem to know what the deal is already.

6. "Kids were sent from heaven inside to lead you to the future
Wrap their eyes in blindfolds and still they'll find their way
Blind their eyes with pills and lies and still they'll find their vision
And soon they'll leave you to your yesterday

And they'll sing -- Goodbye, scars of Hitler, and goodbye, bankers' trust
Aquarius is shining and the sun is one of us
And me I don't wanna go to the moon: I wanna leave that moon alone
I just wanna dance with the Rosebud Sioux this summer"

Lots of traditions have respect for children

7. Hey...I'm a Sunday school teacher =P
It's cool, though, I understand how you feel.
I'm definitely not a 'fear fear fear hate hate hate' type of teacher, that's for sure.
