Poll question: Would you go to a creation museum? |
|
How would you react if you did go?
Maybe Kirk Cameron will be there.

Hey, I went to the Alien Museum in Roswell, New Mexico! Even bought a ball cap with a picture of an Alien holding a golf club and the caption "The missing links"
But I don't think I'd go to a "creation" museum. I think it would be too creepy. Those people are scarier than the believers in aliens.
But I answered maybe. If I were in a really crazy mood and thought I could get out without being attacked for laughing...

it is facinating to see what things adults can buy into . . .
not unlike the 19-percenters who continue to believe junior is doing a good job. . . .

9. We were wanting to get a busload of friends and go there |
|
We thought it would be a hoot.
I have no idea how I would react if I went. I suppose it would depend on how absurd it is. But I do think that I would probably have a hard time not laughing out loud at some point.

10. My stepdaughter went there to do some research for her next book |
|
She is writing a post nuclear book and it addresses religious zealots, etc. I can't say anymore than that about it. She was totally mortified by the silly ways they try to explain dinosaurs, Noah's ark, etc.

I'd love to go and laugh, but doing so would contribute to the cause. Better to let them try and survive on scratch from the faithful.

wearing a t-shirt from the natural science museum I work at, and laughing, laughing, laughing...
I actually heard, one day, a visitor telling her @8 yr old child, as they walked through our dinosaur diarama, "You know, none of this is true."

20. Maybe, if only as a way to explain to our kids what's wrong about it. |
|
I'd worry that it might make some sort of sense to our kids, though, considering they're so young (7 and 5). I'm glad their teachers are teaching evolution, though, so maybe I'd take them, if only to use it as a way to explain how very wrong it all is.
