Can the love between two people ever be an abomination? Is the chasm separating gays and lesbians and Christianity too wide to cross? Is the Bible an excuse to hate?

Through the experiences of five very normal, very Christian, very American families -- including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson -- we discover how insightful people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child. Informed by such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg and Reverend Jimmy Creech, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO offers healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity.

2. In which case he is perfectly free to not marry a gay.
He does, OTOH, wishes to overturn ALL of DOMA, not just half, the way Hillary does.

He is fully aware that there is more than one bible in this country, and does not expect everyone to live by HIS personal beliefs.

3. Fuck the bible.
It's a load of bullshit. Why are we even having this discussion? The bible is cobbled together from the writings of superstitious people thousands of years ago. Whenever people try to discuss the issue of "how do we reconcile homosexuality with the bible," I can't help but wonder why people are even giving serious consideration to the prohibitions of the bible. It's like asking "how do we reconcile the modern field of neuroscience with the ancient Egyptian superstitious belief that the brain had no function?" We don't even bother to consider the clearly absurd beliefs of ancient people. Why should the matter of homosexuality be any different? There doesn't need to be a reconciliation between homosexuals and Christians, because the homosexuals are not doing anything wrong. It's the
Christians that have the problem. I'd like to go on record here: Fuck any religion that holds homosexuality to be an abomination. And yes, I will go so far as to say that that religion needs to be eliminated off the face of the Earth.

4. Religious doctrines are null and void..
People who subscribe to dark age books and riddles need to move to the 21st century.

There is nothing wrong with the Gay community and they were born ok the first time. 'For Reason tells ME so.'
