Saudi's destroy bible's, arrest christians (see where this is going?)
Group: Saudis conduct worst crackdown on Christians in decade
Jun 3, 2005
By Staff

WASHINGTON (BP)--Saudi Arabian police have made a wave of arrests of Christians since May 27, constituting the “largest crackdown” on followers of Christ in the Muslim-dominated country in the last decade, according to a Washington-based human rights organization.

International Christian Concern reported it had learned of 46 confirmed arrests in the Middle Eastern country through June 1. The arrests included eight Indian nationals who were taken into custody May 28, according to ICC. It also has confirmed reports of police ransacking the houses of Christians and destroying Bibles, ICC reported.

Regular Saudi police and Muttawa religious police have carried out these actions, according to the ICC.

Baptist Press requested comment June 3 from the information office of the Saudi embassy in Washington, but none was provided prior to the deadline for this article.

1. Wonder what took them so long? Obviously this justifies everything.
Is it true? Who knows? Does it make what we did right? Hell no.

3. Our good buddies wouldn't do that.
I mean seriously, we wouldn't be friends with a government that crushes religious freedom, and womens rights... would we?

6. IF it's true
it strikes me as a little revenge.

It may even catch on as a popular pastime in other ME countries.

7. This would be the same Saudi's whose royal family ...

is practically related to the B*shes (e.g., 'Bandar Bush')? If GW held hands with the Saudi's any more than he does Laura would have grounds for divorce in most states. Seems a poor choice of countries to site in order to score points with the religious extremists if that is what Rove et al are up to.

8. Yawn
Another day, another SoB (Southern Baptist) propaganda campaign.

I lived in Saudi Arabia for over 2 years. I had friends and co-workers who attended Xian church services every Friday. (The Muslim holy day. Saturday and Sunday are work days there. Saturday is the equivalent of Monday in the West, etc. Thursday is Market Day and Friday is Kiss-The-Ass-Of-The-Invisible-Man-In-The-Sky Day.)

The Saudis know that foreign Xians hold worship services, and they generally turn a blind eye to it. The local English-language papers, like the Arab News, occasionally run nice ecumenical features about the similarities between Xianity and Islam.

To attract the attention of the matowah, or Religious Police, you have to be doing something fairly egregious. Like trying to convert Muslims, which happens to be a capital crime in Saudi Arabia. It is called "apostasy" in the shariah legal code, and ranks right under murder as a legal offense.

This sounds like nothing but a typical Southern Baptist fund-raising effort. While I've been an atheist for many years, I was raised a Southern Baptist and grew up steeped in their propaganda. When I was a kid, it was all about the Heathen Chinee and Russkis oppressing Xians.
