Poll question: Offensive statements concerning God II.
"God is love." versus "God is stupid." Which of these two statements are the most offensive?

2. Why must people insist on giving God human traits?
THAT is stupid. ;-)

4. since both are about an imaginary guy, why would either be considered offensive?
Might as well say, "The Great Pumpkin is love", or "The Great Pumpkin is stupid".

5. There have been complaints about the way atheists and theists discuss religion and non/believers.
Most of the complaints I have read have been about atheists being jerks.

I am hoping to discover which types of comments are offensive to many and compile a master list.

I am trying to use comments I have seen here on DU.

"The Great Pumpkin is stupid"

The Great Pumpkin is cool.

7. Though I would agree with the first, and disagree with the second
I find neither inherently offensive.

They are both comments on God - not insulting comments about believers. IOW, stating a belief, not belittling a believer.
