Any suggestions for a Christian, non-denomination magazine
concentrating on family issues? The 'take one, I'm free' kind.

My local Y is distributing copies of James Dobson's Focus on the Family magazine. They claim not to be aware of the political connotations of the group.

I had a meeting with the Y director regarding this issue and we agreed that I would suggest some alternative publications to possibly replace the Dobson publication.

So any thoughts? I would like something truly non-partisan as well as non-denominational.

Protected

I am one with God's all-encompassing presence, and all is well.
More than likely we have all experienced the wonderful sensation of coming into a warm, dry home on a cool, rainy day. Or the awesome feeling of being hugged by a loved one or being welcomed by a beloved pet helped us know that all is well with our world.
And even in those times when we may feel less than comfortable or assured, we can focus on God's all-encompassing presence. Then we know such a comforting sense of security.

We experience reassurance and peace as we picture ourselves in the light and love of God's presence. We have peace of mind anytime and anywhere. Today and every day, we are one with God's all-encompassing presence, and all is well.

"For who is God except the Lord?...
the God who girded me with strength,
and made my way safe."
--Psalm 18:31-32

Unity is a worldwide movement of prayer, publishing, and education that helps people of all faiths apply positive spiritual principles in their daily lives.

We support all people in their individual quest to know God and find healing in their lives. Our philosophy offers a practical approach to Christianity and teaches that as children of God, we are heir to all that we need.

Follow the path of peace
If you were to create a “top-ten” list of what you wanted most for yourself or your loved ones, chances are world peace would be included.

But how can one person help create peace on a global scale?

Taking the First Step
It’s been said that every journey begins with a single step. So if you are going to follow a pathway to peace that reaches out to the world community, you’ll first need to take a step toward finding peace within yourself. This inner peace will then radiate from you to illumine others and from there will brighten the world.

We invite you to take that step. Reach out in faith and begin exploring your pathway to peace.

5. The Daily Word sounds like a good start.
I also looking for something with a family orientation. Articles about how to strengthen you marriage, about raising kids interspersed with some bible verses. Something not too liberal, either. I just want to get FOF out of my Y and replace it with something acceptable to all the members of the Y, something that doesn't have a political bent.

Actually FOF magazine is not all that crazy. They come off as being conservative but rational, save the crazy stuff for later.

3. i think that would be very difficult to find..
publications of a religious nature...are based on a sort of "my way to seeing christianity is the only correct way..the others are wrong" there are some books that are unbiased..and some wtritings that are also unbiased...but these are information publications...such as a look at the different religious beliefs..of the different ways other cultures relate to their idea of a god, etc. but i do not think these would be something agreeable to the folks that are at the y because it is a christian based organization..promoting christianity to the young people and to the family. Good luck, though. i hope u will keep us posted on what happens.
