Woman who thought she was God accused of slavery
British woman facing 65 years in jail for keeping three children slaves for 10 years in U.S. home

A British woman who believes she is the Messiah has pleaded not guilty to keeping three children as slaves in her U.S. farm.

Mercedes Farquharson, 63, was arrested in Bulgaria in July, having allegedly been on the run for three years after being charged that she made the young women work up to 20 hours a day in harsh conditions at her North Carolina home.

One of the girls is Farquharson's adopted daughter. The other two were taken from Southall, west London, in the 1990s while their real mother was having problems with a difficult marriage.

It is alleged that that from ages as young as seven, they were put to work, sometimes being forced to work up to 20 hours a day or face being beaten.

They were also made to clear up after dozens of animals including chickens, dogs and sheep, it is alleged.

When the girls were rescued police said Farquhason would bark profanity-ridden orders to the girls over an intercom, working them 20 hours a day.

Holly, 18 when she was freed, said Farquharson, who claimed she was the Messiah, made her cook expensive steaks for her, one after another until she got it just right, throwing those she disapproved of to the dogs.

1. Too bad they don't sentence you to hard labor any more.

2. Yikes.
then again, anyone who talks to god is wasting their time. Anyone who hears god talking to them needs serious psychiatric help.

3. Ahhh, but the question is....
...at-trial can they prove that she isn't the Messiah?
