Radical Cleric Dobson holds conference to "cure gays"
Radical Cleric "Dr." James Dobson, the leader of the Fundamentalist Extremist group "Focus on the Family" is leading a conference on "curing gays".

Dobson's group proudly traces it's lineage back to the Pharisees of first century Palestine, and has been condemning sinners for thousands of years. Said Dobson, "Back in the day, we could just stone 'em. Nowadays with the ACLU and all the powerful liberals, we have to settle for attempting to cure them. But we rest in the knowledge that if they do not repent, God will burn them in Hell forever. That thought gives us some peace and comfort in this, our time of great oppression by liberals."

1. Dobson - THALT SHALT NOT KILL. If you dare try to murder me,
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 10:57 PM by HypnoToad
I will fight in self-defence to the last drop of my blood. YOU are the oppressor, not I. I've done nothing against you and I couldn't care less what you do in your own home.

Why you see fit to oppress me and threaten me (and others like me) as such is beyond despicable.

You are not religious; you are an animalistic thug.

And dobson, think of this: If no "liberal" laws existed and it was okay for you to summarily kill, be sure that I would do the same unto you for what you would dare do unto me.

As Christians, we BOTH have responsibilities to be civilized... and the same COMMANDMENT applies: GOD SHALT NOT KILL. How come none of the 10 commandments says anything of homosexuality yet it says killing is forbidden?

3. Dobson is getting WAY too much air-time/media attention
I remember the good old days when religionists had to buy their own stations if they wanted to be on TV. There was NO WAY a network news show would even mention them, much less give them a story every few weeks.

11. Dobson buys his own time, I think
His show runs several times a day on the local right-wing Fundie station here in Los Angeles. (KKLA, which really needs one more "K" in its call-sign.)

Sometimes it's pretty hilarious. On one show he interviewed home-schooled Fundie students who were preparing to go to college. Dobson was trying to make the point that the home-schoolers could get into college as easily as anyone else.

Then he asked the kids where they were going to college. EVERY damn one was going to some Fundie/Bible school: Bob Jones, Biola, etc.

Oh, none of them were going to Loyola Marymount, though...;)

4. Scary
This is a lot worse than just being confused and trying to "help" homosexuals become like "normal" people. I can kinda' almost forgive that kind of nonsense.

This guy, however, is a dangerous and hateful sonofabitch Taliban-Christian.

5. Running around in circles cause their guy got into absolute power & won't

life a finger to touch the issue. The WH has all three parts of the balance of power.

Rove needs it for all the elections to come in the next 20 years. He hasn't won yet without going gay. A great way to box in the reptilian part of voter's brains. More non-gay people than gay. So you just keep stirring that image and it pays off every time.

Have they stopped with the covenant marriages yet? You know..marrying your spouse for the second time because word got out that Christians divorce as often as everyone else?

What a waste. These people could be working really hard on something other than their capacity to hate. They could be fighting the War on poverty or addiction with these resources and effort. As always..that war goes to the religious people who walk the walk.

6. Yeah but
These people hate everything. As a kid, I had to attend a Church of Christ where science was secondary to faith, where I was looked down on by many people by not believing Jesus was a god, and couldn't ask questions of the dogma. It was nice overall but it turns off the brain. Baptists (2 relatives are Baptists) hate intellectuals, gays, liberals, colleges, professors, judges, democracy, everything. I think Christianity promotes this kind of behavior so Christians can be more easily controlled and eventually bring down a society so they can reform it as a theocracy.

8. Radical Cleric Dobson needs to get out of the gay-cure business.
And while he's at it, he should get out of the religion business before God punishes his hypocrisy.

10. Dobson is a street thug in sheep's clothing
He'd love nothing more than to stone gays like in Biblical days.

He makes me ill. :puke:
