pastor has asked for the death of all 219 Democrats who voted for yesterday’s bill.

As Randy Neugebauer cops to shouting “baby killer” on the House floor, a pastor who ran for VP with Alan Keyes has asked for the death of all 219 Democrats who voted for yesterday’s bill.
The vitriol stemming from yesterday’s health-care vote—from Randy Neugebauer’s shout of “baby-killer” aimed at pro-life Democrat Bart Stupak on the House floor to slurs shouted at John Lewis and Barney Frank from crowds outside the Capitol building—has reached a new apex: a call for the death of all 219 Democrats who voted for the bill, through the power of prayer.
Orange Country Pastor Wiley Drake fired off an email to his supporters this morning, telling them that all 219 Democrats have been placed on the “imprecatory prayer list.” “We’ll remember in November and pray Psalms 109 while waiting,” he urged, before listing each offending congressman by name in “Satan’s domain in Washington D.C.”

Psalms 109:8 reads: “May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership” followed by “May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.”
Wiley Drake is a former second vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention and received 47,000 votes as the vice-presidential candidate for Alan Keyes on a conservative third-party ticket in 2008. He has previously repeatedly called for the death of President Obama via imprecatory prayer.

n recent weeks, Drake has stepped up his calls to stop the health-care bill through the death prayer, offered as part of a morning “Telephonic Imprecatory Prayer Team" conference call. After Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s wife and daughter were seriously injured in a car crash this month, Drake wrote “Since God almost let family members die, maybe Mr. Reid sees Imprecatory Prayer in a different light, ya think??”
In this newest email, Drake wrote “It is time for the saints to step up and get back in the war, between good and evil. See what God says the saints are to do in this battle.” He then quotes from Psalm 149:7 “To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people.”

2. So when is the line crossed? When are these taken as
terroristic threats? When do these people get identified as domestic terrorist?

6. I agree! These are dangerous people, this is not political discourse, these
are people spreading/inciting domestic terrorism.

7. I completely agree
Odd that some on this board would defend that part of their first amendment rights.

14. I guess my question to them would be how far does one take first amendment rights
before a collapse of the union and/or outrageous violence. Nothing generally works to infinity.

5. Yeah, people
who support people having access to health care need to be punished.

Geez you'd think the government was pushing for the slaughter of the first born. I know their Old testament God was all about vengence but these nuts need to spend a bit more time in the New Testamemt. "Whatever you do the the least of my breathern you do to me."

10. IMO these are people filled with hatred venting/releasing that hatred under the
veil of being religious. It is all a farce and just another hate group. And tax free. A bunch of BS.

18. This is why President Jimmy Carter told the Southern Baptists where to stick their bible.
Not an easy thing to do, they hold a lot of sway.

I love that man.:loveya:

ETA: I just remembered something that has been circling around my head recently from the Rude Pundit, and it so perfectly applies here:
The thing we must remember is that motherfuckers, due to their nature, will indeed fuck their mothers. We should stop being so surprised.

You can always tell which religions are bogus right off the bat
because they're always the ones to call for the deaths of other people who are outside the sect.

I'm betting Drake is a fervent Dispensationalist. I know he's part of the leadership that caused both Moyers and former president Carter to take a hike and find something nourishing instead of hateful.

17. Separation of church and state the IRS should be his first visitor
I am so sick of these churchs getting by with paying no taxes and then trying to foster their beliefs on the American people. They should pass a law that a church's tax exempt status should be revoked as soon as they make two or more political statements.
