I had my first encounter with BS like this. I was attending a Fundy church, earning my first ribbons for learning Bible verses... learning about Jesus and how we were all supposed to be kind to each other and help each other and share everything we have with each other and never, ever bare false witness...

So my cousin Julie and I hear this prediction that the world was going to end... we cried ourselves to sleep thinking we weren't going to wake up the next morning... then we cried and fretted all day the following day...

I decided that some so-called Christians needed to go back to Sunday School and earn some damn ribbons because their stupidity and ignorance caused my cousin and I great mental anguish.

I still feel that way, though I've stopped listening to men talk about Jesus.

14. The problem with this particular cult website is that they never do their updates right.

They first put up that site in 2008 and when the Rapture doesn't happen, someone occasionally goes through and changes the year. Unfortunately though, they're only checking the headlines....

The Rapture takes place sometime during The Jewish Year 2010 (SEE 1/3 DOWN THIS PAGE), this runs from the end of Rosh Hashanah 2009 to the end of Rosh Hashanah 2010 (9/19/2009 to 9/8/2010!). Other Bible codes and a number of other prophecies predict that a comet will annihilate the earth in the year 2012. In the book of Revelation the bible describes a comet hitting the earth after the 3-½ year mid point of the 7-year tribulation period. This occurs after the Antichrist enters the new rebuilt temple in Jerusalem proclaims that he is the Lord and demands the world to accept his mark in order to buy or sell. .SEE VIDEO! When this happens the Lord releases Hell on earth! If you add 3 ½ years from November 2008, that takes you to the year 2012.

Now obviously the math here doesn't add up. If the Rapture, and the Tribulation HAD begun in 2008, then the timing of the 2012 comet strike would be plausible, although if it did happen around Rosh Hashanah, then 3 1/2 years would actually be into 2013, which obviously takes the Mayan apocalypse date of December 21, 2012 off the table for the comet strike. And with the updated dates, assuming that a Rapture DID happen this September, you would be looking at 2014 for the midway point in the Tribulation.

These must be home-schooled fundies, and apparently their parents told them calculators were an invention of Satan. :evilgrin:
