NJ Pastor Pleads Guilty To Forcing Teens To Videotape Him During Sex
NEWARK, N.J. ( WPIX) -- The pastor of a Newark church pleaded guilty Thursday to forcing teenage girls to videotape he and a congregant engaging in sexual acts at a motel, according to authorities.
Rev. Moises Cotto, 55, pastor of the Congregation of Yahweh Templo El Candelero on Chester Avenue in Newark, pleaded guilty to two count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. As a result, Cotto will spend 14 years behind bars. Upon his release, he must also register as a sex offender under Megan's Law and will be placed on parole supervision for life.
Cotto was arrested May 17 and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, attempted aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor.
His parishioner, Brenda Pabon, 37, of Middlesex County, was charged with kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a minor.
