At least for me it is. The whole point of being a theist is that I believe some higher power probably exists, but I have little doubt that no single organized religion could possibly have it all right about that higher power. So really, being a theist for me is about knowing that I don't know what the hell is really going on and not being so presumptuous to believe that I might have it right (and how arrogant can a human being be to claim to understand the motivations and insights of a being that is allegedly beyond reckoning - that's more or less saying you're on par with god yourself). In that light, I do believe I'm quite right about that.

and thats the hard part for me - in what areas of my belief set am I adamant and where am I willing to be swayed? Where do I draw the line? Why do I pick some topics as inviolate and not others?
Personally, here is what I consider untouchable, unassailible truth:
1) God is real 2) Jesus was/is God 3) Jesus was crucified, died, and returned to life 3) I am a part of Christ
Beyond that its shades of gray in terms of the strength of my belief.
