Jesus nut
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jesus nut or Jesus pin are colloquialisms for the main rotor retaining nut that holds the main rotor to the mast of some helicopters ...

The term may have come from the idea that, if the Jesus pin were to fail in flight, the helicopter would detach from the rotors and the only thing left for the crew to do would be to pray to Jesus. In addition, a person must have faith in the Jesus bolt to do its intended job without failure. ...

More recently, it has come to be a generic engineering term referring to any single component of a system whose failure would cause catastrophic failure of the whole system.
...

Main rotor attach nut, or "Jesus Nut" from a Bell 222U shown in hand for size perspective, and installed with locking key.

2. I thought you were talking about a religious relic,
Like a splinter from the cross, or an apostle's finger...

3. In Showers on Navy ships there is a Jesus Bar...
that is used to hold on to if you slip during high seas, or for other reasons lose control of your legs.

You yell, Oh Jesus, grab the bar, and hold on.

4. There's also a "Jesus clip"

It's a common name for a spring clip or a circlip used to hold an assembly together. Removing these incorrectly causes them to fly through the air, never to be seen again. When that happens, the universal expression is "Aww, Jesus!"

7. I wonder if Jesus clips get raptured.
It would explain how they just blip out of existence the way they do.
