1. A recent post here made me realize something I'd forgotten about the drive for wealth and power:

Jesus said:

"As on Earth, so shall it be in Heaven."

I strongly disagree with the literal translation, but it surely fits the mindset and provides all the cover they could ever want for taking Christ out of Christianity.

Modern Xtianity thrives on reinterpretation of the good books.

Each day, millions and millions of American citizens turn on their expensive desktops, laptops and cellphones so that they can log on to an expensive internet connection and complain about how OTHERS do not care about the those in need, where somebody tells them they agree that OTHERS should do more.

Yeah, pretty awesome.
