What would remain of Christianity if all elements of dogma were removed?
Feel free to say "not much" or "nothing." However, I started this thread because I'm curious about the opinions of people who think that an extensive amount would remain. What reasons are there to believe that the remainder would be extensive? What would the extensive remainder consist of?

4. Since dogma is established belief or doctrine what would remain are
doctrines like Gnosticism which is not part of dogma.

5. Heresy, of course.
Teachings that are outside the dogma of the Church are heresies. The main reason the Church has dogma is so that there will be uniformity in teaching and belief.

6. I must be misunderstanding your question
Here is the definition of dogma per dictionary.com: "a system of principles or tenets, as of a church. 2. a specific tenet or doctrine authoritatively laid down, as by a church"

So what would be left of Christianity if every principle or tenet that is central to Christianity was removed?

Well I suppose you would first have to define 'What is Christianity?' or 'What makes a person a Christian?' Thats a tough enough question to begin with!

8. Yes, I shouldn't have used the word "dogma."

I made a new thread to rephrase my question, but it's just a temporary solution. Thoroughly explaining what is meant by "a system of attitudes" would take more time, and I haven't yet thought of a plan for making it into a discussion rather than a monologue.

7. Its history?
including slavery, hatred, countless killings, cruelty, child molestation, rape, massive, never-ending profit at the expense of the least? And that's just off the top of my head, i'm trying not to get started.

9. Oh yeah, no other religion/culture ever espoused those

:eyes:

Getting rid of Christianity won't end any of those. The bastards who do support such things will just find something else to justify them.

Never mind that many Christians have worked to end slavery, domestic violence, rape, etc, because of their beliefs.

However, I'm a bit confused about the presence of this item: "parking lots" and the absence of "automobiles." Are there indeed Christian parking lots, but are they filled with Hindu cars or something?
