People just don't want to remember there were two trees in Eden, not one. We got tossed out because eating from the Tree of Knowledge made us smart enough to want to eat from the Tree of Life. And that was a big fat no no from God.

You die, you're dead. King David's dead. Moses is dead. The apostles are dead. Jesus was dead.
Not harrowing hell. Not in limbo. Dead.
Of course, it also had a belief in the resurrection. So Jesus was alive, then dead, then alive. People like the apostles, presumably, just having a longer gap between dying and living again.
