7. I suppose I should have said...
...the downside of being an atheist and being right is not getting to say "I told you so".
Versus a believer being right and getting to enjoy watching me burn in hell for all enternity.

11. Hitler, Gandhi, Franco, Carl Sagan, all in the same place now.
That actually ticks me off.

Still, it's the facts.

That's the downside.

12. I don't think that being dead makes for a sort of fraternity.
You don't exist, then you do, then you don't again.

13. I would not be too quick to say that it is the "facts"

Perhaps it is true. I don't know.

Given what you know, I would understand that you regard it as being an overwhelming probability.

However it is possible, however unlikely it might seem to you, that they might still be alive in a next world.

I don't think science can absolutely prove for certain that these people are all "in the same place" right now.

Sometimes science does find things out that go against previously accepted conventional wisdom.

Maybe overwhelming probability, but I would not say those are the "facts".

Personal disclosure: I would consider myself to be just on the believing side of agnostic, and closest to being a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deism">Deist. I used to be a Christian, but am not any more. However I have some of my own reasons for having problems with being an atheist. I consider both the matter of God and the matter of life after this present life to be open questions for me.
