God must be doing a serious facepalm at this news.

Blessed are those who seek cheap fossil fuels, for they shall be given a free car wash with fill up.

11. Which raises the theological question...
What kind of car does God drive? An old Plymouth. Genesis says he drove Adam and Eve from the garden "in a Fury."

The apostles were also a bunch of cheap bastids, and all crammed into one Honda. That's according to the New Testament, which says they left "in one Accord."

No mention of how Jesus motorvated. But since he seems to have been something of a masochist, going by the Gospel According To Mel Gibson, I'd guess a Yugo, a Lada or maybe a Daewoo Anus Lanos.

(Daewoo mentioned because when I worked in Egypt, I spent months commuting 3 hrs. a day as a passenger in one of those kidney-beating little crap-boxes. And almost every taxi in Alexandria, Egypt was a clapped-out Lada...complete with a huge, knee-cracking analog meter under the dashboard, which hadn't worked since the Breshnev regime. For that matter, neither had the Lada's brakes. Or its lights. Or its...)

(Full Disclosure - being an atheist, all the above is just idle conjecture for fun. Except for the part about that frigging Daewoo.)

12. Why not trade in their SUV's for hybrids?
That would do them more good.

14. I'm hoping there is a clerk inside the gas station who messes with them by lowering prices...
.....and as soon as they all get in their cars to fill up, raises them.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

15. That would be a great stunt.
Even have the prices keep raising each minute they pray. Get it up to $9.99 or just for them make it $6.66
