Quaker Open House in NJ
I'm hosting an Open House this Saturday, 10/22, from 11AM-5PM in Plainfield, NJ.

Tours of the historic Meetinghouse (built in 1788) pizza lunch and discussions about who and what Quakers are are on the agenda.

It's free, and everyone's invited, even if you're not all that interested in Quakers.

Flyer and directions at www.plainfieldquakers.org

1. I like Quakers
Have been considering attending one of the two meeting houses in Mpls/St. Paul for some time.

6. I went to a Quaker meeting in college.
For an assignment in my Comparative Religions class, we had to attend 3 religious services different than what we grew up in. I picked a Catholic church, a synagogue, and a "Friends" meeting.

My honest opinion: uh, I was really bored. :)

2. Coolness
A lot of good people calling themself Quakers these days. Course my ADhD (and other factors) make it difficult to sit through one of their services. But I quite like the ideas.

5. Take a book.
Or ask if you can join the kids in First Day school.

7. I prefer to remain a friend of the friends
Its the other factors issue as well. I like the UU environment better. Its inclusive of my beliefs and a bit more boisterous. Plus we regularly steal the Quakers ideas, so its almost like being there.

4. Wish I was nearby,
I'd definitely go. I'm very interested in the Quaker message. Hope your open house is very successful.
