What is "God's Plan" that all these religiosities believe they know?
I hear these "christian" preachers spew "God's Plan"; and, apparently, these folks believe they KNOW "God" well enough to assert that plan; yet, they NEVER lay out that,..."plan",...by "God",...except that THEY somehow have a power GOD never gave them: to judge others.

These people are NOT representatives of Christ or his vision. They are the WEAK ones.

That's all I have to say.

1. Whatever happens is god's plan.
We mortal just get to make up myths and fables to explain the totality of random events in our universe that constitute 'god's plan'. Here is god's secret plan: shit happens.

11. We, mortals, manage to complicate shit beyond "shit happens".
Geez. We sweat every damn thing in our venture to control every damn thing. UGH!

I'd rather hug our way through the confusion than beat the shit out of each and every confused human being (that would be ALL of us).

Where's the forgiveness and understanding and,...FAITH in eachother, which Christ demanded and GOD expects?

I am just sick and tired of people who,....are self-proclaimed "righteous" people having NO patent, trademark or copyright on God or truth.

I'm sick of it.

Fuck them. They are ignorant and weak and a pain in the ass of human evolution.

4. That is SO the crux of the matter.
And the only thing the Bible really says is that He is unfathomable - one would logically conclude that "his plan" is equally unknowable. (Yeah, yeah, I know all the "I have a personal relationship with Jesus" crap) The whole point of the Book of Job is to tell people that God cannot be judged. He does what he does and it's right because he's God.

Gee, sorta like Bush!

9. Please don't compare God to *!
He does that himself I'm sure.

My belief is that the Jesus story (whether he was real or not) is intended to let us earth folk know that God is accessible to us.

I don't think that anyone knows what God's plan is.

Most can tell in their hearts what it is not.

And many, including those who claim they know God's plan, do much of what they have to know is not God's plan (steal, lie, cheat, kill, harm others, etc.)

5. Anything that gets them more money and/or sex with children
Edited on Tue Jan-17-06 09:48 PM by PSPS
It's the same as any other religously-based cult. A coupl of examples are Jim Jones and David Koresh. Their little clans apparently existed only to get money from its members, and sex from its members' children.

6. The Plan, as seen by the "appointed".
The plan, is apparently, that certain "christians" have been chosen to speak for God. To my astonishment, God is in need of interpreters, defenders and judges.

21. Yes, you do, but
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that naturewill reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life." - Galatians 6:7-8

Every one of us is free to make our own choice to accept or reject God. So you are absolutely right. You do make your own decisions.

...I make decisions for god too. I'm in the inner circle. I twist his leg until he complies with my wishes.

And you, buddy, are on the "iffy" list with me. so be careful, or I'll tell god to send you to thje great dirty saucer in the bottom rung of the dishwasher.

15. G_D told me what his plan is
To feed the hungry;
to clothe the naked;
to comfort the afflicted;
to visit those in prison;
to heal the sick.

If you don't believe it ask him yourself.

27. Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God
some people, however (Pat and Jerry and the blab and grab preachers come to mind) failed basic reading comprehension, and somehow assume that God's plan is worldly power and fortune for themselves, which is the exact inverse. When the writer in the epistles said "Christ must increase, and I must decrease," he wasn't calling for a mindless obedience to a cult leader or abandonment of rationality, he was calling for a rejection of selfishness and embrace of altruism.

16. Whatever happened to humility, now humans can now figure out
the precise people God is trying to kill today and for what?

In christian theololgy, god's gotta plan and nobody knows what it is except that it is pursuant to his love and desire that we all choose him.

That's it. Everything else was a mystery. Now these dolts tell you that God wants us to have lower marginal income tax rates.

17. Anyone here read "Papillon" by Henri Charrière?
In very brief summary, it's about a guy wrongly convicted and sent to Devil's Island. Given the conditions on that happy isle, the prisoners must stow their money in a container that they then insert deep into the rectum (a la Christopher Walken and The Watch in Pulp Fiction)

The container is called a plan.

In that context, it's deeply troubling to learn that "we're all a part of God's plan" or that "God has a special plan for each of us."

Make of that what you will...

18. Apparently "God's Plan" includes
Letting countless innocent people die in natural disasters, time and time again.
Letting men, women and children worldwide starve to death on the streets because they are poor.
Letting millions go without health care.
Letting gays and lesbians suffer heinous indignities, up to and including death at the hands of "Christians".
Letting people die in a multitude of daily accidents, while others in the same accidents walk away unscathed (I guess the ones that died didn't pray/tithe enough).
Letting his "Servants" preach hatred, bigotry and even violence in His name.

19. Just Me,
You have a choice, not an obligation, to accept God. The awnsers you ask can be found in the first four books of the New Testament. The most honest awnser from this trying-to-be-a-Christian is read it for yourself, without the shoot-from-the-lips of some such as Pat Robertson. I have found that reading the four Gospels, more than once, will open your mind and heart.
I hope that everything turns out well for you.
