Expert explains grilled cheese "miracle''

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Brace yourself. There may be a less-than-miraculous explanation for that image of the Virgin Mary a Florida woman says appeared in her grilled cheese sandwich. <snip>

Diana Duyser of Miami put her grilled cheese sandwich up for sale on eBay last week. She said she took a bite after making it 10 years ago and saw a face staring back. Into a clear plastic box it went and has remained on her night stand, she said. <snip>

4. I'm sorry, but am I the only one who does NOT see the Virgin

Mary? I see a womans face, but it looks like a silent movie actress from the 20's.

Oh, also, how is that sandwich preserved? I am assuming that the box is not airtight, so what did she do to make it last 10 years?

I really can't believe anyone is taking this seriously. Personally, I think it's hysterical, but it does reinforce my belief that we are a nation of idiots.

5. When I saw it on television, I could see

a vaguely Marian image, with her hair veiled the way she's portrayed in many paintings, but in this photo I agree it just looks like a woman. On a grilled cheese sandwich.

It's silly and sacrireligious, IMCO (In My Catholic Opinion.) I don't have so much problem with people being inspired by images on windows, etc., that look like Jesus or Mary to them if they're sincerely inspired by seeing such "miraculous" occurrences. People have always looked for "signs and wonders," in all faiths and all times. But this is gross commercialization of an alleged "sign" and the ultimate in "pet rocks." (You know that bread and cheese is almost like petrified wood by now!)
