Atheists or agnostic know for certain bush is bat shit crazy |
|
From the way that he claims "god" talks to him. Since god doesn't exist -- "god" cannot talk to him. He is hearing voices as he claims, "I hear the voices".
In fact for me the fact that someone like bush can reach such a powerful position is proof that no god exists.
Now there may be menacing evil spirits -- I grew up in Hawaii and lean toward their world view. It sort of seems like bushie has a dark evil cloud following him. But then my more logical brain rejects the concept of "god" -- and thus I know that bush is bat shit crazy.

1. i think he lies about that, too. |
|
i don't think he hears god or voices or anything. i think has a sociopath's ability to read people and manipulate them, and he has learned that tossing in a few religious statements or biblical references earns him a lot of undeserved trust from foolish people who for some reason think that evil people can't quote the bible.

23. I don't think it's possible to know either way. |
|
Lots of incredibly nasty people have been very sincere in their beliefs, and thought god was speaking to them.
Just because you don't like what he does doesn't mean he can't be a sincere Christian. Unless you have the ability to read minds?

4. Atheist maybe. Agnostics would give you the big shrug |

as they would say they need more evidence.

Agnostics need no more evidence concerning the fact that Bush is crazier than a shithouse rat, and aren't looking for it where God is concerned. :)

10. You are underestimating people of faith |
|
And yes I'm a fence-sitting agnostic. But I happen to know for a fact that certain Christians, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Jain's, Sikhs--what have you also know he's bat shit crazy... They may call it something different though.
On the flip side, my husband talked to the guy who married us years ago (he's a fundie and a young earther but he was a friend of my husband, I just figured he was a little crazy--Ok, a lot crazy) And he loves bush. I don't understand it. He's a pastor at a little church, you would think he would preach peace and love, end of war you know-- Christan stuff. I really, really don't get it. Sad.

It implies wishy washiness, and I don't consider agnostics wishy washy. You're just looking for more empirical data is all.
One thing I remember from being at DU during the 2004 elections was the prayer thread that would start up just before each date. I was so proud that they included Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus and what have you. I liked the inclusiveness of the thing, I guess. Personally, when I post such threads, I always include those who would rather just send good thoughts and positive energy.
I also found out during the 2004 that right in the middle of Sensenbrenner's district, in the heart of a quite Red County, lies a little Lutheran church full o' Liberals. I thought I'd get the cold shoulder when I wore my Kerry button there, but got thumbs up instead.

Democracy and God
GW Bush keeps saying that Freedom and Democracy is a gift from the Almighty. It is America's duty to spread Democracy.
"Freedom is not this country's gift to the world. Freedom is the Almighty's gift to every man and woman in this world. And, as the greatest power on the face of the earth, we have an obligation" to carry out the Lord's mission." GW Bush
'I feel like God wants me to run for President. I can't explain it, but I sense my country is going to need me. Something is going to happen... I know it won't be easy on me or my family, but God wants me to do it.' GW Bush
GW Bush made this god up because there is no such god in the bible. The one in the bible is a jealous, vengeful god that demands complete obedience and loyalty. This god does not grant freedom to human beings but demands servatude. The god in the bible is a war god and that part of god seems to suit GW Bush just fine.

|
. . . would it bother any one here if I said I know an atheist who is also a die hard Bush Bubbah?
Bush is crazy. If there is a God, then Bush is crazy. If there is no God, then Bush is crazy. If there is a God or there is no God, then Bush is crazy.

16. It's funny. I'm a Christian and I've never heard "God" speaking to me. |

When and if "He" ever does, I hope it's not when I'm in the shower. That could be really embaressing.

19. In bad times, people tend to gravitate toward religion. |
|
How does one gain power? Create bad times and spew religious platitudes.
It's really a simple formula.

"A religious person believes in talking to god, a psychotic person believes that god is talking to them." Dubya has alot in common with Charlie Manson. Didn't Charlie belive that god was talking to him via beatles music ?

21. Here's what I hear when you say that: |
|
I hear you say that I'm bat shit crazy on those days that I'm feeling spiritual.
Which I'm not.
In fact I do some of my clearest, most logical thinking on those days.
So why should I rely on this contrived "proof" (which falls apart from the moment you believe anything W says and gets worse from there on) to decide that that patently obvious megalomaniac is bat-shit crazy.
Why I'm even bothering wasting my time invading yet another atheist circle jerk thread, I don't know, but there you have it, my 2 cents.
