Humanist links
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 09:08 AM by TechBear_Seattle
To further greyl's post about humanism: a Humanist FAQ, the three Humanist Manifestos, works on Humanist values, links to the United Nations' civil rights conventions, and various other resources. Let me know if there are any other resources that should be listed. :hi:

Added: The link to the "International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination" is not pointing to the correct document. I won't be able to fix it until tonight.

1. It's pretty tough to add links
that aren't already found at www.americanhumanist.org and www.secularhumanism.org which Gregory Gadow links to. ;)

But here's what I think is the correct "International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination" document, and something related from 1994:

Third Decade to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination, G.A. res. 49/146, 49 U.N. GAOR Supp. (No. 49) at 162, U.N. Doc. A/49/49 (1994).

The General Assembly,

Reaffirming its objectives set forth in the Charter of the United Nations to achieve international cooperation in solving problems of an economic, social, cultural or humanitarian character and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion,

Reaffirming also its firm determination and its commitment to eradicate totally and unconditionally racism in all its forms and racial discrimination,

Recalling the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Resolution 217 A (III). the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination Resolution 2106 A (XX), annex. and the Convention against Discrimination in Education adopted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on 14 December 1960, United Nations, Treaty Series, vol. 429, No. 6193.

Recalling also the outcome of the two World Conferences to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination, held at Geneva in 1978 and 1983,
