18. I think P&T were trolling a bit for the purposes of TV |

While I love that duo, and feel that Mother Teresa was far from perfect (being human, after all), and she did several things that made me angry, I think the pair were a little more critical of her than she deserved.
I didn't like their complaint that she ::gasp:: didn't provide full medical care to the people she sheltered, letting them die.
Well, yeah...
Before her, many of the poor were left to die in the alleys and gutters, alone and despised. She gave the dying a place to expire with dignity and comfort, treated as human beings.
Now, one could argue that it would have been better if, instead of letting 1000 die with dignity, she used that money to give medical care to 10 (or fewer). I wouldn't even say that that argument is wrong. I just felt the show was a bit one sided with regard to her... Of course, it was a short segment out of several, and showing her as a complex, flawed person doesn't fit into the show's reason for being.

Sorry, I could not resist. I just saw the thread about him trying to start the Cold War again, and I thought that he would be the last one I would vote for.
I second Jimmy Carter - he is a man who truly lives his religious beliefs.
