United Methodists Calling for Accountable Leadership
Reverend Courtney Ball and Josh Steward, members of the United Methodist Iowa Annual Conference, have a petition on line. They charge Bush and Cheney with four chargeable offenses for lay members, as listed in 2702.3 of the 2000 Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church. These offenses are crime, immorality, disobedience to the Order and Discipline of the UMC, and dissemination of doctrine contrary to the established doctrine of the UMC. The petition calls for an immediate and public act of repentance, or that their membership in the UMC be revoked until they do repent.

Visit TheyMustRepent.com to see who they are. See the petition here:

6. New Movie Idea
I think that his next blockbuster should be about Bush's illegal inclusion of religion in his governing. Mike should think about this idea.

I hope that the UM church will excommunicate Bush, then maybe, just maybe, the country wil excommunicate him as well.

7. awesome
Totally!!! Bush is not a Christian, how can anybody say this. It makes me cry at night when I hear people calling Bush a Christian. Yeah a Christian like Jesse Helms or Strom Thurmond were Christians. My United Methodist Pastor called Bush "Hitler" sometimes I'm inclined to agree. Gosh these bible thumping hypocrites make me sick. You stay out of my bedroom and me and my partners closets and I will stay out of yours.

Hey extreme, do you think there is any chance he will be impeached??? I mean what do you have to do in this country to be impeached??? Only falsify a war and spill blood for a few millions gallons of oil, sick!

9. Here is my plan
Clinton was impeached for boneing a chick. The only crime there was that she wasn't too attractive. What has Bush done? He started a war. He lied about WMDs. He is not a Christians. Christians don't do things like this. My plan is to write every progressive congressperson to get him or her to vote for impeachment. How can we let Bush run roughshod over the Constitution? I mean, we might as well get out our swaztikas now if we don't do something.

10. wont work
Not gonna happen my friend, not with the right wing nut jobs in Congress. He is gonna slip, and when he does Field Marhsall Cheney and Rummy will not be there to clean up the mess.

Somehow I feel like he will be disgraced, maybe not now but in the end history and we all will know.

12. We Methodists are not the excommunicating sort
That said, many of us are annoyed that Bush is not at all representitive of the Methodist Church. Indeed my own vicar was grumbling about this in his sermon on Sunday!

13. A ray of light
I'm an athiest, but it's good to at least see that some pastors have some moral fortitude left. I applaud your vicar.
