Politics in Religion
We often hear about religion in politics.
This is usually when one or another stripe of irrational fanatic is trying to cut and paste their holy book into the constitution.
We don't hear enough about Politics in Religion
Many of the Red State faithful were played by the Republican Party.
Paid shills were sent in to witness against the depravity of the Democratic Party.
I wonder how these people would feel about the Chimp's men diddling their religion for political gain?
Less ardent believers might also be concerned.
Religious leaders were tempted with the bribery of the faith based initiative. That's where tax money is paid directly to the Church of the Chimp's choice as a reward for delivering votes.
Religious followers were offered the civil rights of their neighbors.
And I believe both groups have failed to receive payment.

1. Yes I wonder what it would be like if the
situation was reversed.
If religion wants to remove the separation between church and state, as has been taking place, then I wonder how they'd feel about being subject to income and property taxes on their receipts and real estate holdings.
It would be a nice help to the treasuries of all gov't entities I would think.
I believe in the separation of church and state and I don't believe the above should take place. But,if they are going interfere with 'the state' then should should be more then happy when 'the state' takes their 'chunk' out of them.

2. Actually
By law, if you engage in political conduct you are supposed to lose your tax exempt status. I expect the Justice Department to start their investigations of this sort of thing right after they finish their investigation into Halliburton's Iraq contracts.
