Deadline nears for Jesus DVD project

October 1st is the deadline for the Jesus Video project in Buncombe County (North Carolina). More than $200,000 has been raised to place the Jesus Video in every home in Buncombe County. A total of $95,000 remains to be raised.

I live in Buncombe County and I find this intrusive, to say the least!

I have no idea if it's the same outfit, but you can buy one, it says, for $10.

3. I got one of those some years ago...

I don't know if it's from this same project, it wasn't a DVD but a video. I still have it kicking around in a drawer somewhere probably! Never have opened it. I'm on the other side of the state from you, in Alexander County, near Statesville.

6. Let them waste their money!

I haven't ever received one, but if I did, I'd do exactly the same thing with it that I've done with every other bit of junk mail I've ever received -- dismantle and recycle.

I've received religious medals, nickels, plastic dummy credit cards, AOL CDs (ad nauseam), etc, etc, etc. Everything with my name/address on it gets shredded and every last bit of the junk gets recycled.

Unsolicited religious videos would get the same treatment. They're really no more intrusive than any other kind of junk mail. No one's forcing anyone to sit down and watch the thing, and I'd find the mailing method a lot less intrusive than some missionary knocking on my door and disrupting my day.

It's a really cool movie about Jesus. It's about how Jesus never really was a person, but started out as a myth.

9. Cool...Jesus has a DVD coming out?

Is that his North American or the Europeon leg of his tour? And will there be interviews and footage from his days before he became a "star?" I look forward to this.
