Seems we have people in power who are betting our planet that we are in the Last Days. If so, I am comforted by the following:
But many that are first will be last, and the last first. Mark 10:31
The passage just prior to that seems to be a call to action.
Mark 10:28-30 Peter begain to say to him, "Lo, we have left everything and followed you." Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the sake of the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands ...

6. My first 20 years moved at a snail's pace - the last 20 have zipped by |
|
That's the way it is. When you are a kid, you can't wait to get older and it seems like it takes forever, but once you hit your 20s, time accelerates. I'm in my 40s now, and now a year seems like no time at all.

Well no one really because hate is a human emotion but here is a quote from revelations that says what is important to God: It comes from the part where Jesus is returning to the earth and it says "He will destroy those that destroy the earth" Those that destroy the earth? Now who could that be? It seems that God loves tree huggers after all.

8. "End Times" has as much unfair baggage as "Marijuana". |

The Apostle Paul thought he was living in the "End Times".
The point is to live as though time is short, with reverence for the mystery of being.
Be mindful of the "thief in the night" clause.
Because, no one truly "knows".

9. It seems like such an odd thing |
|
that people seem to look forward to "the end of the world". I too think it would be interesting to experience. Yet it seems very morbid.
It is like people craning their necks to see a car wreck - curiosity? It's also like people singing about wanting to die (Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, I'll Fly Away...) - why not be happy being alive?
I don't think about there being those who are right with God and those who aren't.
I guess I figure - nobody's perfect - and I don't see God picking people out. I think we are all in this together and whatever will be - will be. And if the world ends - it will probably be of our making. If anyone is less "guilty" - it would seem to be the people dying of starvation who aren't using up fossil fuels and resources - and who are not part of groups of people starting wars...

11. Looking forward to the End Times |
|
is, in a way, a cop out, because then you don't have to try and solve the problems of the world, try to get along with one another.
As one who believes all things are God, to say that some will be left behind doesn't make sense.
Another way of looking at the concept of end times is to consider that perhaps it means that one's concept of God will shatter and change. Pir-o-Murshid Haz. Inayat Khan explained this process thus: "Shatter your ideals on the rock of Truth."

10. Don't forget, the people who wrote the NT thought they were |
|
living in End Times too.
Everyone of the Apostles was sure that Jesus would be back within their lifetimes.
We do not know the scale of time on which God works... so it may have been End Times since April 33ce till now and even beyond.

12. We are always in the End Times |
|
And alweays in the Beginning....we cannot live as if the world is about to end and it doesn't matter what we do to it and we cannot live as if the world were endless. We have to plan for the future while preparing for the possibility we may die today. It's a perpetual contradiction, but one we have to find an accomodation for.
