Alex Tanguay race heats up

This should be one of the more interesting free agent chases this off season.

Eklund (this biggest bullshit artist in all of sports) is proclaiming that the Isles are in the race for this guy. BD Gallof (Probably one the best bloggers in all of sports. does an amazing job of getting scoops that the press seems incapable of acquiring) states that the Isles have contacted Tanguay's agent but haven't followed up. In other words, it's a very slim possibility.

Tanguay being primariliy and assist guy is either convinced he gonna maximize his earning potential with this contract or is gonna take a short term deal to bolseter his numbers and give it another crack next summer. Tavares and Okposo are both projected to but up big numbers in the goal scoring departments but I doubt they are at point where a guy like Tanguay sees an immediate boost in assists playing with those two next season.

So I see the chances of him going there slim next to none. Especially given that Snow would most like flip the guy at the deadline for picks and prospects.

I think if Tanguay takes a short term deal it's gonna be Buffalo, St Louis or maybe even Toronto (more for the money. That team can't score goals).
