Pablo slips to second in voting
Engaged in what amounts to a basketball game against the new leader, Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino -- the lead has changed six times -- Sandoval had relied on a surge of votes Wednesday morning to regain the top spot for the remaining opening on the All-Star team.

"We hope that we can get him over the top," said Staci Slaughter, the Giants' senior vice president of communications. "We're just telling people to keep voting."

It's obviously down now to 2 candidates, Victorino and the Panda. Unfortunately, Victorino plays for the Phillies and since Charlie Manuel is the NL manager, any benefit of the doubt is going to go in his direction. Who knows how these votes are counted anyway?

Nevertheless, Pablo's supporters, must soldier on and keep voting in the hope that justice will win out.

2. You admittedly didn't even know the rules
you're probably still not clear on them...therefore you're in no position to pass judgment..

3. Rules or not, it's inherently a dishonest tactic.
But as you're already pretty much a Republican, I can see why you have no problems with it.

Looks like you better get stuffing a lot faster or your lover won't make it to the All Star Game.

4. That's ridiculous
I'm following the rules set down by MLB exactly, as are those voting for other candidates. I would be doing Pablo a disservice if I restricted myself to one vote while others voted as many times as possible for their particular choices.

MLB encourages this manner of participation..if you have a beef with it, take it up with them.

6. So the MLB encourages douchebaggery. Doesn't mean you have to buy into it.

Yeah, and all those other voters are douchebags too. How anyone thinks this somehow proves that these players earned the All Star appearance is beyond me. This doesn't reflect well on the players chosen at all, be it Pablo or anyone else. If they needed people to vote multiple times to get into the game it doesn't say much for them or their fans. That applies to Sox fans who do it, too (that's called not being a homer fanboy...look into it).

A large market team will always have more voters than small market teams, and because of that players that deserve a chance won't get it. But as a Bonds fan we all know integrity of the game isn't a big deal to you.

5. I haven't violated the rules, nor have a broken the spirit of the rules.
Unlike you.

Sad. Pathetic. REAL SPORTS FANS would be ashamed of your behavior.

7. Since you brought it up
one would expect a REAL sports fan, or in this case baseball fan, to at least know the rules of the sport and it's accompanying All Star voting.

9. I figure this is rigged
suddenly on the last day, MLB announces that Victorino, who just happens to play for NL manager Charlie Manuel's Phillies, has overtaken Pablo. Setting the stage no doubt to claim he is the winner later on.

Look at their stats..

BA

Pablo: .326
Victorino: .308

HR

Pablo: 13
Victorino: 6

RBI

Pablo: 48
Victorino: 40

Slugging %

Pablo: .560
Victorino: .464

10. I'm sure that has nothing at all to do with the fact that Victorino drove
in the winning run in last night's game in the bottom of the 9th. If Sandoval ends up pulling it off in the end will it still be rigged?

12. Their record is practically the same as your Giants, cboy.
The major differences, of course, are that the Phils are LEADING their division and are defending World Series Champions.
