Cain injured leaves game...Giants win anyway 2-1
Matt Cain left the Giants' game against the San Diego Padres on Saturday in the second inning after he was struck by a line drive.

With two outs in the second, Cain was hit by a line drive near his right elbow.

They're saying the x rays were negative...so all good Giants fans are keeping their fingers crossed that Matt won't miss the All Star game or any time.

Meanwhile, in Cain's absence, the BP came through and the REAL All Star third baseman, the Panda, hit a 2 run HR for the difference....the Giants now have the best home record in MLB and have won 7 of 9.

1. That sucks about Cain.
Hope it's not too serious, but if it is bad he can skip the All Star Game and rest it at least.

2. Yeah..I think he's done for the All Star game
too bad too, it was his first ever All Star selection. They're saying it's a contusion above the right elbow...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this won't affect his season, he's having a career year.

5. Probably best to have him skip the game (still go, just not play).
The ASG isn't that important, and he means too much to the team to risk anything over it. If the x-rays were negative then hopefully it'll just be sore for a bit.

3. Bochte just said during the post game news conference that Cain is now
officially doubtful because they don't want to risk anything.

But that he'll probably make the trip, so he at least gets announced I guess.

Panda has homered in every game since he got screwed in the All Star voting.

He must envision Charlie Manuel's head on the baseball.

4. Yeah I saw that too..
Maybe something good will come out of all this. Manuel's probably got too many pitchers anyway, he should choose Pablo to fill Cain's spot..then hopefully Matt will be ok after the break.

6. Talking to Matt Cain right now
on the Giants post game show...says he feels fine now. Hearing that, I'm feeling better myself.

Sure hope Matt Cain is okay. This just in: Charlie Manuel ready to name phillie fanatic as replacement pitcher.
