Victorino's suspicious route to NL starting CF |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 01:55 PM by Upton
Shane Victorino, the same man who finished 7th in the fan voting, wasn't named as a reserve, then trailed the Giants' Pablo Sandoval in the Final Vote for 3 days before mysteriously overcoming that lead on the final day, has now been named the NL's starting CF by his manager on the Phillies Charlie Manuel.
The whole thing is just way, waay too convenient for me..and lends even more credence to the charge that the Final Vote was most likely rigged.

5. That is a quote in the context from being in a jail from a non-violent protest |
|
He wasn't talking about not voted onto a roster of an exhibition game. I mean every all star game someone is less deserving then the other for example Favre made the Pro Bowl over Philip Rivers despite Favre leading the league in interceptions.

Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 08:16 PM by Onceuponalife
as sports. Compared to what Dr. King had to go through and all his compatriots just to get basic civil rights, it is unbelievable that you would bring up that quote in this context. You are disgusting. I am now 100% certain that you are white because no person of color would ever be so disrespectful and bourgeouis.

10. WHO FUCKING CARES!!!! |
|
This is the whiniest shit I've seen on a sports forum in a long time.
Who really gives a flying fuck about an all star snub.
Really?
Who gives a shit?
Nobody really cares about the boring ass fucking all star game. REAL baseball fans can't wait for this ridiculous specatacle to be over with so we can get back to playing some games. The All Star break is the shittiest three days of the summer as there are no real sports on TV at that time. Coming home from work I wanna watch some ball not some overpaid flubs playing in front of a bunch of CEOs and their bratty little kids.
Or so we can hear about afterwards how much Coke and Pepsi paid for ad space. The MLB All Star Game is nothing but corporate gluttony gone awry.
Who fucking gives a shit.
And yeah, my guys have four players voted in. That how much I really give a shit about it.
Whiners.

|
or you wouldn't be trumpeting that 4 of your "guys" (also known as Chokers) made the team.
Which, BTW, is another example of East Coast Bias...because while the 3 games under .500 Chokers have 4 All Stars the 10 games over Giants have but 2.

This endless whining over what literally amounts to nothing is unseemly. I like Victorino as much as the next Philadelphian but I didn't bother to vote for him on the internet because it's stupid. The whole concept is stupid. Even dumber than the regular all star voting which is simply a popularity contest.
Are you this Sandoval guy's agent or something? Did you lose out on his $100K All-Star escalator or what? I don't know anyone who seriously gives a fuck about this crap.

20. Did you know that there was a big campaign to vote for Victorino? |
|
Shane and Mayor Nutter went door to door on the local news. Chan Ho Park came in for relief wearing a sandwich board saying "Vote for Victorino." And since there was unlimited internet voting on the last day, the world champions won a popularity contest. It didn't need to be rigged.

and he led most of the first 3 days..then on the final day it was announced that Manuel's pet, Victorino, had suddenly come out of nowhere and won....the whole thing is very suspicious and to Giants' fans smells of voter fraud.

When Victorino wasn't in the lead, he was right behind Sandoval in votes. It's not like Sandoval was heavily favored from the start or anything. Your arguments here are so fucking stupid it's unbelievable.

31. What a surprise...a Phillie fan doesn't agree |
|
well consider this: For the first time since 1972 an NL team, the Phillies, is sending it's entire outfield to the All Star game. This despite the fact that only one, Ibanez, was on the original roster.
Boy, having Manuel managing the NL has it's advantages doesn't it?

35. Yep, Ibanez was on the original roster. |
|
And Victorino was voted in as the final all star by the fans. And Werth was put in as a reserve because Carlos Beltran is hurt. That's it. It's not a god damn conspiracy.
And with regards to my being a Phillies fan and not agreeing...have you noticed that the ONLY person here who agrees with you is...wait for it...a GIANTS fan?
