Who will replace T.O.?
I'll go with Miles Austin. And with Barber, Jones, and Choice in the backfield, an improved defense (Ware of course), and Romo to Witten, I'm feeling a little better about the Cowboys coming season...how do you feel about your own team's prospects?
peace ballers :hi:

1. It's going to have to be Roy Williams
He does have talent and he really needs to take this opportunity and step up and become the Cowboys #1 receiver.

but the problem of criminal behavior and pro sports exists throughout all the major leagues...super wealthy owners are shifty anyways, with the exception of the Steeler boss, so I really do not understand how the Cowboys alone can be faulted for what many teams suffer from and are susceptible to...

8. For instance, my owner is a piece of shit. He doesn't know anything about
football, and on most Sundays, I'm hoping a Medellin drug cartel kidnaps him from Candlestick Park so he can't run the 49ers any more.

And while I don't truly think the Cowboys tap the prison system that much more than other teams, Jones seems like a huge dirt bag who is more apt to do whatever it takes to win .. even if it means loading up on Michael Vicks.

Jones to his credit has 3 rings and built this:

signed lots of troubled players.

I only knew him as someone who won Super Bowl after Super Bowl.

15. A real straight arrow.
from wikipedia

DeBartolo was involved in the corruption case of former Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards. He pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to report a felony, and received a $1 million fine and a year's probation in return for his testimony against Edwards. Edwards was on trial for extortion and other charges, among which were the $400,000 he demanded from DeBartolo to gain a river boat casino license. DeBartolo never received the license, was also fined by the NFL, and barred from active control of the 49ers for one year.

So one can be shifty and win it seems...

Come on mix. How is this even being discussed on a progressive discussion board.

Even some of my friends who root for the Cowboys think that episode was the biggest crock of shit they've heard of in ages.

Give me something good.

went to the trouble of going to Wikipedia and copying and pasting DeBartolo's horrific crime against humanity. LOL!

Why I'm surprised he hasn't been sent to the Hague yet.

And those aren't prison pix ... they're Cowboys pix. Show a little more respect for your team.

25. Was that photo taken before, during, or after Bin Laden's CIA employment?
Are 49ers trying to be like Cowboys?
What a brilliant history - the Super Bowl championships, the Hall of Fame players, the unforgettable moments and this 2009 edition of the San Francisco 49ers wants to emulate it all. But it's not their own history the current crew wants to replicate - it's the Dallas Cowboys of early the 1990's that the 49ers want to become. From a desire to plant a new stadium outside of the team's namesake to recreating the bludgeoning running game, San Francisco wants to be Dallas. The running game is the best example. This season, the 49ers go in with a simplified running attack that they want to build on a relatively small sample of inside running plays. Zone blocking will be a large component of the scheme. Frank Gore will play the part of Emmitt Smith and the two backs are similar with their forward body leans, and their one-cut-and-go tendencies. Neither is considered particularly fast, but both are tough inside runners with terrific vision.

38. Was DeBartolo the one who signed a side deal with Brent Jones
for some sort of "off season consulting" job while he was a player for about $500K to try and get around the salary cap rules, or was that after he left? That was about the same time they signed Drukenmiller for relatively low money and made a secret side deal with his agent that they would renegotiate later, which was also a salary cap violation.

Niners were 7-9 last year, no reason at all that can't be turned around...and if they go 9-7, they're in contention for a playoff spot.

See, you're a Cowboy fan...you're used to having high expectations that turn into disappointment year after year after year. It's made you jaded in your outlook..the complete pessimist.

Me?...I'm a fan of the 5 time Word Champion Niners, never a loss in a Super Bowl, the glass is always half full and I expect the 49ers to compete for a playoff spot if not the division.
