Giants' senior general partner Sue Burns dies
Randy Winn led the Giants in prayer before batting practice this morning for Sue Burns, the team's largest shareholder, who died overnight at 58 after learning she had cancer a little more than a week ago.

"We all have heavy hearts today," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Sue was such a beautiful lady who gave us her unwavering support all the time. These (players) were her kids. We're going to miss her, her smile, coming down by the dugout before every game. Our thoughts are with her family, her daughters Trina and Tori. This thing was unreal how fast it happened."

Twelve days ago, Mrs. Burns hosted an annual team party at her Atherton home. Rich Aurilia attended.

"Being here for a while, I've known her family for a long time," Aurilia said. "They're great people to be around and always treated everyone on the team like a part of their own family, which is nice. You don't get that a lot from a lot of teams and owners. This is a huge loss not only for the Giants but everybody who knew her."

6. Weird thing is
Burns was apparently diagnosed with the disease July 10th, so for one of the rare times she was absent from the park when Jonathon Sanchez threw his no hitter. It's just really sad.
