Cleveland sends reliever Rafael Betancourt to Colorado for prospect |
|
Betancourt has been injury-plagued most of this year, posting a 1-2 record with a 3.52 ERA.
Cleveland gets Connor Graham, at 6-foot-7, 235 pounds, who has and has spent all of 2009 with the Modesto Nuts of the California League. He is 7-4 with a 3.14 ERA, 87 strikeouts and 41 walks in 80 1/3 innings in 16 starts. His ERA is the sixth best in the league, and he's limited the opposition to a .225 average against, with just two homers allowed. He is 3-0 with a 0.59 ERA over his last three starts.
Sounds good to me.

1. The wheeling and dealing has begun!!! |
|
Looks like it's starting to get crazy.
I hope the Mets deal Sheffeild and Castillo. Sheff I think can be moved as Detroit is paying his salary and the Mets are only paying him 400k of it. He could be useful to any team looking for someone off the bench or a DH for the world series.
Castillo I have little hope of the Mets moving. I hope they can rid themselves of him it any cost.
Wagner is another option that could be useful to a contender but isn't due off the DL by the deadline. He could bring back a prospect or two.
I think the Marlins will be active adding pieces at the dealine as will Chicago and Milwaukee.
