Guess who's back in the Wild Card lead?
Edited on Wed Jul-29-09 07:40 PM by Upton
Yep, thanks to Randy Winn's 10th inning hit, the Giants' swept away the Pirates (taking their second baseman too)...and due to the Rockies/Mets rainout, now find themselves once again on top of the Wild Card standings.

The Giants at 34-15 now have the best home record in MLB..

1. We'll see July 30th
The Rockies was postponed until then. Otherwise they could've tied for the lead with a win tonight.

2. Or they could have fallen a full game behind
and with the way they've looked the last 2 games, it was probably fortunate for the Rockies the game was postponed.

3. Just to look good or bad for today?
Now they have to play a day-night combination tomorrow. I'm just saying gloating that the Giants have the lead is meaningless because The Rock Show didn't play today.

4. Just because of a rain out?
Up yours, Upton!

5. Long way from last Sunday aren't we?
The Rockies have looked terrible against the Mets....they wouldn't be a 1/2 game out if they had won either of the first 2.

How embarrassing, to be shutout last night by a Met team that has had trouble doing anything right

Oh, Btw, the Rockies have now lost 20 of their last 22 in NY...that's not just embarrassing, that's humiliating.

8. Face it
losing 20 of 22 to anybody is HUMILIATING. I don't need cboy or anybody else to tell me that and neither should you...but perhaps you have another word for it.

7. Even worst when you're the wild card leader and lose 3-4
to the Mets AT HOME!!!

Don't use injuries as an excuse.

9. Are you still going on about a series
that took place back in May? First off, the Giants were not the Wild Card leader at that time...and secondly, the mere fact that you continue to bring up the same lousy highlight of the Mets season, just demonstrates what a terrible year they're having.

Can't you think of something else...I know, has David Wright hit a HR since he got back from Houston? I mean anytime little Davey muscles up, it must be cause for some real celebration among Mets fans.

12. 2 days ago
It wasn't that a big a deal to you that the Small Men USED to lead the Wild Card. Now it's a big deal.

Can you keep a consistent line on anything?

BTW; Beltran is due back in two weeks as is Reyes. What happens in two weeks?

OH YEAH!!!

The small men come to New York to revisit the buzzsaw.

You're still the shitty team the Mets faced about two months ago.

13. Here it is..
whether the Giants are a couple games up or a couple games back, the fact remains they are a contender.

A contender that you had all but written off when they came out of the break losing 5 out of 6. Now, showing their resiliency, the Giants have won 5 of 7 and are back at the top. The Giants are not going away.

My question for you is this....are you ready to admit you were wrong?...Doing so now will save you considerable embarrassment later.

15. Welcome back!
Haven't heard from you in a while.

Did you see the execution on Monday? I wish the same could happen to the Yanquis. :P
