5. Fury of Anti Revenge game
I've posted that angle here many times, FAR. If you beat a team on the road in a high profile game, then host the same team, particularly at the outset of the season, all the energy and motivation belong to the home team. They literally are in a fury to prove the previous result was legit. It's decisive in the first half so that's what I bet. Often the energy advantage lapses in the second half.

Last night was a delicious example. I anticipated that game all summer. Oregon baked it perfectly by yapping about last year's result, saying they were embarrassed. That infuriated Boise State to unimaginable level of intensity. It reminded me of two years ago, when New England hosted San Diego in week two, the week after Spygate and more importantly only months after the bitter playoff game in San Diego, in which the Patriots pulled it out late and then celebrated on the field, angering Tomlinson. I remember I mentioned FAR leading into that game.

It's reached the point I've got friends on sports message boards sending PMs and asking if this game qualifies, or if that game qualifies. Last night we all agreed and there was plenty of early celebration. It really should have been much more lopsided than 13-0 at halftime.
