1. Well, I love the SEC. It's my conference... BUT
every time that I see the last few minutes of the SEC Championship game from last year where Tebow is running around looking all crazed and then see the disgusting fight at the end, I want them to lose.

I'm sick of Tebow.

I'm sick of Urban Meyer.

they are a great team, though. I'd love a rematch with them this year - only with a different outcome!!!

10. Sooooo.... who are you picking when UM and Florida State play?
I hate Miami. Can't stand them. Have hated them since Bama played them back for the 92 National Championship. They acted like thugs.

When Bama was down due to probation and loss of scholarships, it was rough. It's been nice seeing Miami down lately. :D

12. Thats the "I couldn't care less" matchup of the week for me
Honestly. I've hated Miami since JJ was down there. And I've gotten to dislike Florida State intensely since they joined the ACC.

3. I hope they lose on October 17th
against Arkansas. Hey Joey the best team in the best conference is really disappointed in your angst.

4. Pretty badly.
I hope that Tim Tebow gets a (non life-threatening) injury the first game. I can't stand that homeschooled Jesus-loving freak and I am still glad, I would STILL trade this victory for all of last season and the Appalachian State loss, that Lloyd Carr got to go out on top beating those jerks.

7. Hey Lisa
I get beat up for posting stuff like that here. Mallet to start for the Hogs this year.

If tebow goes down in the first game, that would mean they'll only win the national championship game by 10 points.

11. Nah. If Tebow goes down, they are screwed.
It's bad enough that he's as obnoxious as he is - but even his NAME is annoying!

Good luck with Mallett. I'm willing to give R-Rod three years, but it does baffle me why he couldn't coach his current players with an interim system.

6. I want the media to call them out on the scheduling
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 01:25 PM by Awsi Dooger
Losing will take care of itself if Florida threatens an ambitious schedule. It's time for Herbstreit and others to make it a weekly theme.

It's obscene to hide behind conference reputation and get away with it, to the point you lose at home to an unranked team and are barely penalized, like last year. It's never a certainty how strong a conference will be from year to year, or even if the regular season reputation is accurate, as we saw in reversed fashion from the Pac 10 and Big 12 last year.

Florida hides behind the Georgia game as a road game. They haven't played an out of state non conference road game since 1991, a 17 point loss to Syracuse. When they dropped Miami the rationale was they wanted to play an aggressive intersectional schedule, with home and home meetings. That's exactly what others are doing, USC risking at Ohio State next week to conclude a home and home, with Miami and Oklahoma finishing a home and home in about a month. Florida prefers home to Charleston Southern, and comparable.

And absolutely, I'm desperate for the Gators to lose, but not confident it will happen. There's basically nothing in the SEC this year, no team with impressive balance.

I'm more annoyed at USC losing to UCLA at the end of '06, upset as an 11 point favorite. Minus that outcome, Florida is basically nothing at this point. No title in '06 means no absurd benefit of a doubt for the home loss to Mississippi last season. Don't forget, in between they had a poor year in '07.

8. Hiding behind conference reputation?
Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn. All conference games for Arkansas this year amongst others. No need to hide that schedule, groan about it but be proud of the gravitas of it.

You can be a Razorback fan on October 17th when they play Florida.

9. Tebow is not unbeatable, certainly (to your last point)
UF can be beaten. Ole Miss handed them their hat last year at the Swamp. Then we had "The Speech" :puke:

Charleston Southern - that's just sad. I am rooting for them, though! ;)
