Raiders cut Jeff Garcia and another interesting former Raider is cut too
Raiders: Quarterback Jeff Garcia, who was signed by Oakland in the offseason to push JaMarcus Russell and serve as a mentor to the former No. 1 overall draft pick, was among 22 players let go by the Raiders on Saturday.

"There was some talk about how he would fit but the best way for me to approach it is the other two played so well and we are committed to JaMarcus as our starter," coach Tom Cable said. "Whether or not (Garcia) was comfortable in a role as a backup, it is what it is."

Rams: The St. Louis Rams cut wide receiver Ronald Curry on Saturday. Curry has 193 catches for 2,347 yards and 13 touchdowns in seven years, all with the Raiders. FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez first reported the move.

Curry was the National basketball AND football player of the year back in the 90's. His sudden decision to go to UNC and not UVa was part of the reason that Vick ended up at Tech.
