3. last week sucked
but not because my picks were off--I don't really care about that. :)

My picks for this week, with which I might move the bar even lower than last weeks 2 of 8:

Georgia Tech
Fresno State
Michigan
UCLA
Georgia
USC
Mississippi State
Vanderbilt

5. yeah, I'll go with Iowa there
I'm surprised the line is so low. I guess people are scared off after last week's close shave. But a lot of teams start slow and then shake the rust off, and I'm guessing the Hawkeyes will.

6. Again rooting for..
First one is tough as I like both teams.
Clemson (If it was college basketball I'd be rooting for Georgia Tech)
Fresno State
Michigan
UCLA
Georgia (I like Spurrier but I have to have Georgia as a good looking team on paper when Arizona State(hopefully) beats them next week :toast:)
USC
Auburn
LSU

Before I've known you I would have rooted for Iowa State but since I like you I'll be rooting for Iowa so....
Iowa, FINAL ANSWER. :)

8. Well, here are my picks
Great selection of games!

Clemson + 4.5 @ Georgia Tech --> Clemson even though they only have a few days to get prepped for the game x(
Fresno St. +10 @ Wisconsin --> Fresno State
Notre Dame -4.5 @ Michigan --> Michigan because ND is overrated
UCLA +9 @ Tennessee --> UCLA
South Carolina +7.5 @ Georgia --> Georgia. I think GA will be out to erase the memories of last week's loss.
USC -6 @ Ohio State --> USC. I will not respect the vest, dammit!
Mississippi St + 14.5 @ Auburn --> Mississippi State
Vanderbilt +14 @ LSU --> I'm going with Vandy just cause I like 'em. :D

16. I'm looking forward to Vandy-LSU
I like both teams, but I really like Coach Johnson at Vandy. I lived south of Nashville for a while last year and got to like him from his interviews and good works around Nashville.

I'm not that impressed with LSU so far. Going to be interesting to see what they can do.

18. RT's choices
Clemson - go Tigers

Wisconsin

Michigan (dont like either, but I dislike domers more)

Tennessee - SEC!

South Carolina - go Cocks! send the mutts to 0-2... ATL sports radio will be more fun with the crying fair weather fans!

USC - So Cal (dont like either, but I dislike THE O-state more)

Auburn - War Damn Eagle! AU looked better than advertised last week against a good La Tech team, but this week should be closer (Mullen's team played well last week)

Vanderbilt - Vandy pulls the shocker of the week (Bobby Johnson has the Dores believing in his system). Privileged to say I saw Vandy win its bowl game in person last year in Nashvegas to cap off its first winning season since 1982

23. It's funny...
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 09:47 AM by RT Atlanta
the Tech guys come and go depending on their team's fortunes (on an upswing now), but on the whole are tolerable. Their coach has installed a good system and I think they will do well this year. But Dabo Sweeney is a good coach and has his boys believing in the "all in" mentality.

However, it's the UGAthens folks that are the burr in my saddle. They are the most arrogant bunch and, as a group, there seems to be little humility with them. In one sense, I admire and appreciate the love of team and the high expectations, but you don't lose David Safford and Knowshon Moreno and reasonably expect to go 12-0. As such, I take some perverse pleasure every time the bulldogs lose; to throw in some good innuendo, I hope they are pounded by the Cocks this weekend.

On a personal note, my school is on a 3 or 4 game skid (I forget how many without looking it up) to the bulldogs and that makes my frustrations with them that much worse.

24. Careful, RT. The happyiowan ( my wife) is a UGA grad.
Met her in Savannah in '93. Had a chance to meet Sonny Seiler. The feller that raises the UGA's. Dawg fans do get up for it. I can appreciate that. My nephews, who live in Atlanta, get to go to all the home games. Once in Iowa garb. Caught some hell for that. It could have been worse. Could have gone in Orange.

I've had a really insane week of writing and teaching, and I completely forgot. I've got to set an alarm for this, or something.

That, or maybe it was OU's loss that made me unable to function for the past week. I'll be in next week, even though I'm last at this point.
