Dodgers* lose...no longer have best record in NL
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 12:32 AM by Upton
after tonight's loss to the D-Backs, for the first time since May 2,the mediocre since the All Star break LA Dodgers* no longer possess the best record in the NL...that now belongs to the Cards by 1 game. Remember when LA had the top record in all of baseball...my, that seems like a long time ago.

And the Dodgers* have another problem, here come the Rockies* again:

Dodgers*..83-58
Rockies*..80-60
Giants....76-64

And both teams have visits to AT&T Park on the horizon, starting with the hated Dodgers* on Friday.

1. Giants are done. Reiterated.
Four games back and Linscum out of the lineup. Maybe he's having a bad hair week.

2. We've been over that
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 08:19 AM by Upton
you pronounced the Giants "done" 2 weeks ago and they came back to even. I realize you tried to clean it up when I pointed out your failing, but we both know the truth.

Anyway, your predictions have been erratic at best...but don't worry, sooner or later you're bound to be right about something.

The Dodgers*, thanks to a D-Back BP meltdown the other night, took 2 of 3 but still stand only 27-26 since the All Star break. They can't go into the playoffs (assuming they make it) playing like this and expect to be successful...if I were a Dodger* fan, I'd be concerned.

11. What do you think done means?
Are you new to sports? What are you 14, 15? I said the Giants were done, meaning I don't think they have a chance anymore for the playoffs and each day that goes by it's looking more and more certain.

Unnerstand now, young 'un?

5. I loved the look on Torre's face when the ball missed. I

recognize that face. It's the collapse face.
He wore it when the Red Sox came back to win the W.S.
Good Times. Go ROX.

6. Torre's problme now is he can't caoch during the play-offs...
but judging by the past month, he has started his own collapse early this year.

7. I'm neither a friend or foe of the Dodgers but
they "no longer have the best record in NL." Is that sposed to be a scathing criticism?

9. It's indicative of the mediocre ball the Dodgers* are playing
for the first 70 games of the season, LA went 46-24...in the next 71, they've gone 37-34. This is not the same dominant team we saw in the first half of the season...Dodger* fans should be worried.

10. To a midgets fan it is!
The Dodgers in the first half were way over .500 and the talk of baseball, since then they are merely over .500 and are being challenged by a very hot Rockies team. Oh the shame!

Meanwhile the tiny men are just one game ahead of the Marlins for third place in the wild card.

12. Though the Dodgers* will make the playoffs
Edited on Fri Sep-11-09 08:02 AM by Upton
if they continue playing as they are, their success will be minimal. Then I, and all the rest of the millions of Dodger* haters, will have the last laugh.

Btw, the Giants after 140 games last year, were 60-80..this year 76-64. This season has been a success.

13. Success should be defined as making the playoffs.... not choking at the end.
You're spinning like a mad man there Upton because you see the season slipping away.

You went from posting every fucking win the Giants had this season to now posting every time the Dodgers lose.

Thread after thread of your douchebaggery this season about your choker team is the reason that most in the sports forum are enjoying your teams demise. Hell---I lived in SF and liked the Giants---always have...until you and Douche 1 (RIP) came along and douched the team up.

Here's some examples of the many many---to many to cut and paste--threads that you posted about your stinking Giants and their wild card dreams.

14. So your definition of success is the Giants being merely mediocre
instead of completely sucking. Got it.

15. "This season has been a success."
And that attitude is why there's been no titles there.

16. I agree with you. I know everyone hates my team,
and I'm not trying to compare them to SF's situation, but if the Yankees don't at least make it to the WS, we consider the season a complete disaster.

17. Exactly.
When you expect to win, anything short of that is failure. When you don't expect to win then you settle for stuff like being in the Wild Card lead at the All Star break.

If it makes you feel any better, the way the Yankees look this year you probably won't have much disappointment come World Series time. :)

18. I'm thoroughly enjoying Upton's shift of gears the last couple of weeks...
The dude and his sidekick (RIP) posted every Giant win this season and kept us well informed of the wild-card race.

NOW---With the wild-card slipping away, he's shifted tactics and starts threads when the Dodgers lose.

That---is true Douchebaggery.

19. Here's why I say that
2009 was looked upon as more of a rebuilding year, remember the Giants were 72-90 last season and 71-91 in 2007.

Logically, I don't see why this year's improvement into a Wild Card contender shouldn't be considered a major positive step forward. Now going into next year the bar will be set higher, but until then 2009 has to considered a success.

20. And you should have shown that kind of restraint when praising them up and down all year.
You had stars in your eyes, and many here said the second half would be different, but you kept right on going. You put down anyone and everyone who rooted for other teams, using all kinds of nuttery...except actual performance on the field. Now you see why no one took you seriously. The Giants have great crowds, but barring a miracle won't make the playoffs.

I agree that this season has been a step forward, and I think they have a potentially great future with two of the best pitchers in the game right now, but it's not a success to me. And hopefully not to them either.

Just read some of the Douche's links up above and you'll wonder if he uses Pom Pom's as pillows.

Again----now he's posting Dodger losses.... douche

22. I don't think so
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 09:50 AM by Upton
the last time the Giants even finished above .500 was in 2004. The Giants are finally back as a force to be contended with...that's fact.

And I don't apologize for enjoying this year, nor will I apologize in advance for 2010..because, unlike my late brother in arms, I'm not going anywhere. I will continue to be a strong advocate for the team I grew up with and the team I love...the fact that it annoys you, just makes it all so much more enjoyable.
